Learning to Learn Experts and Champions
Our children’s voices are an integral part of the school’s vision and values and have helped to shape our curriculum design and approach to learning. We recognise that in order for things to continually improve we need to see how our school looks through the eyes of the child. Over the years we have a wide range of roles for children where they get a real say in the future shaping of their school.
As a Rights Respecting School we also recognise the importance of this. The high quality relationships right across the school are a real indicator of this. The importance of having a voice is also explored throughout legacy projects so that our children develop a social conscience and a good moral code. Projects such as ‘Does every child have a voice across the world?’ is a good example of this. Currently the school has a range of ‘champions’ who play an important role within our school. Their thoughts, ideas and views enable the school’s evolving curriculum to not lose sight of the child’s perspective.
